CYRUS MELCHOR

aka Mount Cyanide, is an award-winning composer and producer whose work spans orchestral, hip hop, and experimental music. A hands-on multi-instrumentalist, his sound fuses classical sophistication with hard beats, noise, and analog experimentation. His breakout track “Hell Yeah” with rapper Old Man Saxon became a viral phenomenon, generating billions of streams and views worldwide. As a composer, Cyrus is a Critics’ Choice Award nominee and holds multiple awards from the CLIO’s, AICP with accompanying induction into the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in NYC. Mentored early on by Eazy-E and with early grounding in piano, violin and guitar lessons and eventual hip hop obsession as a working DJ starting in middle school, Melchor cut his teeth with Bell Biv DeVoe, J Dilla, and Massive Attack—a lineage that bridges both raw and experimental hip hop visionaries with classical musical sense. Cyrus is currently producing hard-hitting punk-infused hip hop and radically pioneering orchestral album projects and is actively composing and pursuing scores for dark, atmospheric films.
